If you choose to spend your holiday on a BT Praha-Dresden, so it is the right decision. This bike tour is suitable for less proficient cyclists. Prague - the capital of the Czech Republic is located in the heart of Europe and is one of the most visited cities in the world. Many visitors arrive there not only to see its beauty, but also to meet the kind-heartedness of the local people. Dresden - a city on the Elbe with its countless beautiful monuments, also known as the Florence of the North, was nearly all razed to the ground in 1945. Nowadays Dresden is a modern and cultural centre of Saxony. These two historical cities are connected by the Elbe Cycle Path. It leads along the Elbe River (excluding a path between Praha and Melnik, which runs along the river Vltava). This is a distance of about 240 kilometres. The tour leads mostly along separated and also paved bicycle paths or low traffic roads. Only in a few places like (Svádov-Ústí, Vodochody-Klecany) it is necessary to expect some more traffic and as well as in the cities (unpaved roads are marked with brown curves in your guide). The landscape is very varied there. The picturesque valley from the Prague´s Troja to Mělník, the Polabí plane from Mělník to Litoměřice, but then landscape suddenly changes and you can admire a beautiful hills called Central Bohemian Uplands with the highest peak Milešovka. Romantic Czech-Saxon Switzerland stretches from the town of Děčín and Hřensko to Bad Schandau in Germany its sandstone rocks reach up to 250 meters. Then path across lowlands continues along the Elbe to Dresden. On your way you will pass several castles including Nelahozeves, Veltrusy, Mělník, Děčín, Koenigstein and more. It would be a pity not to visit them. The only thing has to be done - get on your bike and go.
